Vista is Microsoft's newest OS. Its main
technology changes include Areo graphics with a completely new
look and feel, Indigo a messaging technology based on Web Services, Security upgrades, Anti-Spyware, IE7, and more. There are a number of Home versions with different price points. Starter: This is the most limited version of Vista, runs only in 32-bit mode and does not offer Areo graphics. It is limited to 119 emerging markets like India and Mexico. It wil only be offered by OEM and system builders in these select markets (i.e. not US, Canada, European Union, etc.) |

Corporate versions are still planned for November 2006. 22-Jul-2005 Microsoft announces product name - Windows Vista 27-Aug-2004 Microsoft to remove WinFS from first release to try and release Longhorn in 2006. Oct-2003 - More details released along with a early beta at the Professional Developers Conference. See links below. April-2003 - Microsoft at WINHEC announces Longhorn planned release in 2005.
